Meeting the world's growing demand for electricity will require breakthrough innovation at an unprecedented pace. That is the fundamental goal of this best-in-class facility. But breakthroughs are not made by machines. They are made by people.
America is rebuilding. Manufacturing is coming home. The energy grid is being renewed and expanded for the first time in a generation. Every one of those jobs needs a skilled tradesperson, and the country is short hundreds of thousands of them.
Electricians. Turbine technicians. Machinists. Robotics operators. Controls specialists. These careers routinely pay what a college degree promises, without the debt, and demand for them will outrun supply for decades.
Memphis already has what this moment requires: industrial space, logistics muscle, a deep bench of aviation and mechanical talent, and neighborhoods full of young people who deserve a clear path to those careers. What Memphis has never had is one place that connects all of it.
