Computrition: where technology feeds the neighborhood

Advanced computing systems on campus produce something most facilities throw away: heat.

We capture it.

Through the Dataponics concept pioneered by Zero Latency, recovered heat from liquid-cooled computing infrastructure warms controlled-environment growing facilities, greenhouses and hydroponic farms, on and around the campus, year-round.

That means fresh produce grown in North Memphis, in January, with energy that would otherwise vanish into the sky. It means an agricultural technology track in the training center: hydroponics, greenhouse systems, food logistics. It means the campus cafeteria, local schools, and neighborhood tables served by food grown a hundred feet from where it is eaten.
